A little bit of this and a little bit of that

Since I have a backlog in all the things I have to blog about, I'm putting them all in one big happy blog entry.

THE W@W PARTY (March 20, 2009)

I have always been a laid back parson but one of my New Year's Resolutions this year is to have more fun and expose myself (and of course Jay) more. I have missed so much these part few years, especially during my college years in UP, because of laziness and wanting to sleep more. So for this year, I've had enough! I'm going to see more of what the world has to offer, at least until we have a baby where things like this would have to take a back seat.

The W@W Anniversary Party have all the elements I like in a party - pretty, never been to before place (it was held in Fernbrook Gardens), free and delish food (Josiah's catered this shindig together with numerous dessert providers like Joy San Gabriel, Claycakes just to name a few) and a chance to camwhore with all my heart's delight (hello, 7 photobooths!). So even if I have to play all my cards to drag Jay into it, I did, and I can say he also had fun especially when Kamikazee came out to play! I'm sure the cameraman had a blast filming me while I was jumping up and down in my very, very high heels!

See how much fun we were having? :)

More photos in my multiply.

The party also afforded us to meet w@wies like Sis Tess, whom I always chat with in the office but the party was the first time I met her, Sis Tess' hubby Paul, Sis Lhen and hubby Jerome and Sis Abby and hubby Matt. Of course there was Sis Imee and Mikee whom we are friends with since March 2008.

Another good thing about the W@W Party is that it gave birth to another great event idea which I plan on throwing (aha, a hint!) this summer.

THE COLYMPICS OPENING (March 28, 2009)

I've been slaving away for months for this event. Since January I've been eating, sleeping and breathing Colympics and finally it was opened! The event venue is not as fully packed as I have hoped but I was still happy nontheless. People, especially bosses, have been approching me non stop to say that they were having fun and that they are happy to be there. Honestly, there were a lot of glitches but none really affected the event that much and for that I am thankful. Last night, the Colympics coverage finally aired at News Central on Studio 23. I was thrilled and a little nervous to see my baby on TV. And as I have hoped, the Colympics was telegenic! Now I can't wait to have my photos on magazines.

Now did I cover all my backlog now?

Oh, my congratulations to WWF for a successful Earth Hour which was the same day as the opening of the Colympics. That's the reason why our friends from WWF cannot grace the event to open it. I have always been an earth and animal lover so for the Colympics I decided to share all the profits to WWF-Philippines! I have always wanted to be a scientist, marine biologist and environmentalist when I was younger but since I don't know where I'll get employment for those careers, I decided to be practical and get a career that will put food on my plate. I can still help saving the Earth in other ways, right? Right. Anyway, congratulations again! March 28 is a good day for the planet!

The Eraserheads Final Set and Francis M.

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 11:48 AM 0 comments
March 6 and 7, 2009 proved to be days to remeber in the history of Philippine music as the King of Philippine Rap took his last breath on the 6th and the country's primier band the Eraserheads took the stage once more and performed together as a group on the 7th.

Good Bye Francis M.

I personally cannot believe this news the first time I saw it on Multiply. Kiko, as Francis M. is also known to many, is vibrant and full of life. Even if he has been diagnosed with a rare kind of blood cancer, he is still active in the music scene. In fact, he recently formed a new band with his good friend Ely Buendia and started recording late last year. It was a short life for Francis M. but full of meaning as he open the Filipinos eyes to a new genre of music. I always liked him as a performer and loved all the songs he has released especially Kaleidoscope World which has a profound and deep meaning that can be appreciated by everyone no matter what age.

To the King of Philippine Rap, thank you for your genius. You will sorely be missed!

The Eraserheads Final Set Concert: A Huge Success

Fans of all ages gather in the SM Mall of Asia last March 7 to witness the Eraserheads' Final Set Concert. Me, Jay and my brother bear were so excited to be part again of this piece of history in the Philippine Music Industry. As for me, I have been a big, big fan of the group since I was 13 years old. I watched all their concerts in Pampanga and went to our local radio station just to talk to them before their gigs and have their authographs. I have all their albums, know all their songs by heart and even have a copy of their special ed magazine, The Pill Box. I just love them to death so missing their big concert was never an option. I will watch come hell or high water! Unfortunately, we were unable to score VIP tickets unlike last time when Marcus himself gave me 4 big ones so we have to settle ourselves in the Silver A box because my Mom won't forgive us if we got VIP or Gold tickets (which were P5,000 and P3,000 respectively.) Anyway, everything was oh so worth it! The guys played better than ever and they playedso many songs to the delight of the audience. In my estimate, they played a total of 40-50 songs! And the Eheads surprised the crowd by playing 3 more songs (Ligaya, Sembreak and Toyang) after they have ended the concert and did a group hug! Yey! I'm predicting another reunion concert brewing up! OR, the group getting back together! They played 40-50 songs and they are still bitin? If that's not an epifany I dunno what it is!

Surprises of the evening include:

1. Raymund fronting songs Alcohol and Insomia to name a few;
2. Marcus fronting Wag Mo nang Itanong; and
3. The group playing Super Proxy as a tribute to Francis M. Kiko sang the original rap version of the song in their album Cutterpillow. They also sang the chorus of Kaleidoscope World again for Francis M.

Anyway, here are pictures of Francis Magalona with Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia:

...I will be enjoying this ------>

We could have bought VIP tickets if my mom didn't nag us about how expensive it is. Sabagay, the's P15,000 for the 3 of us. Oh well. I will be very happy to hear them play again this Saturday. At least that'll be a few hours of not thinking about the Colympics
