What I am Up To

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 9:30 AM 0 comments
I haven't been writing here as much as I want to. I've been juggling loads of things at the same time. Here are what I have been up to lately:

* My pregnancy

Adam is getting really big lately! I'm on my 7th month now is slowly preparing for the birth. We have already bought the major stuff and is soon to buy his clothes. There's this superstition that you can't buy an incoming baby clothes unless he is already 7 months old in the womb. Also, since my mom got that 12K worth of Sm GC and we used it for Adam's things, I am hoping more GCs will be given since it is Christmas. =) But I have been spending a lot of time in the mall lately to walk of my edema/manas. Thank God it's gone now.

* Colympics

I have been sending invites and proposals left and right. So far so good re media and product sponsorships. Hope to hear from the participants soon.

* My Website

I have started inviting suppliers to be advertisers in my website and so far I have 3! Looking forward in having more. =)

* My advocacies

Speaking, I am again asking your help to sign this petition:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/7/maximum-penalty-for-the-man-who-brutually-killed-a-dog-in-lithuania

It is about a man who threw his dog in the bridge! Imagine the horror the poor dog must have felt. I don't get it why some people are just so cruel. This dog needs justice so please sign. Thank you in advance.

On a more positive news, we have a new dog! We named him Arf Arf like our previous pet. He's such a darling. =)

Pepeng, Ondoy and Baby

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 6:08 PM 0 comments
Okay, here I am attempting to write a blogpost using my netbook. It's gonna be a taxing experience but I have to get the hang of it, right? Anyway, here it goes.
Pepeng is still in the house! Can you believe it? It is only now that I have teard of a typhoon going out of a country, making a U-turn then staying for almost a week now. It must be an unprecedented event. Another proof of global warming. He and Ondoy makes a good tandem. The places that Ondoy "forgave," Pepeng ravished. I dunno how we can get out of this one. I am anxious to start making changes but everybody is still busy surviving. My relatives in Pangasinan were badly hit by the floods yesterday. One evacuated already. As of press time we still don't have any news on their situation since their fones' batteries are already dead because there's no power in the area.
On another topic, I am now 23 weeks pregnant today! Been to the doctor and she gave me the go to have my ultrasound thgis Monday. Can't wait!

Bibay the Environmentalist

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 9:31 AM 0 comments
A lot of projects have been going through my mind eversince Typhoon Ondoy has ravanged the Philippines. Drastic movements shall be made so as to save the planet and thus ourselves. I have always been an environmentalist at heart. Heck, there was even a time I wanted to be one. Unfortunately, we don't have that in the Philippines. So I decided to be something else but I still never abandoned my save the planet ways and now Mother Earth needs me more than ever. If only I am not pregnant I could start right away but since I am. concrete ways have to wait. But planning can start now! I have already came up with a few ideas:

1. Conduct tree planting activities every now and then.

I have a lot of friends who will go along with this one. Seedlings are FREE at DENR, everybody should know this fact to take advantage of it so a tree planting activity is cost free.

2. Create events that will give awareness

My friend Leah gave me a good one that is even related to my current Wedding Blog project. Why not plant a tree for every couple that is getting married! I am sure with the help of other suppliers a lot of couples will go along with this.

3. Lobby for platic-less society

A friend from PAWS suggested this and I think he is correct. Since the event is still fresh and elections are just around the corner, we should push Senate to come up with this law that will order establishments to use paperbags instead of plastic. SM is already doing this every Wednesday. We should compel ALL establishments to do the same.

4. Coordinate with DepED and Sate U's to educate the kids

Instead of spending their free time and NSTP doing "nothing," why not educate them on the global warming and its effects. But educating kids is not enough. They should practice what they learn to really inculcate the message. Practical exams will therefore be tree planting activitoes, clean up activities and other save the Earth activities. While we are at it, why not educate them also on animal rights? Now that's hitting two birds in one stone!

I'm sure I will come up with more just give me time. For the meantime, I will be maintaining a site to help promote the salvation of the environment. That will keep me busy while waiting. I will also continue fund raising WWF and having them talk at the our Colympics. We should all do what we can. This will only get worse people!

Dog Culling in China: Another Barbaric Act of the Chinese

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 11:22 AM 0 comments
Another barbaric deed of the Chinese happening in this time today is the killing of dogs in one of their cities. Why do they kill them? Because of over population, I gather. But then again, they do this also to dogs with owners who do not meet their specifications. They chase them and beat them senselessly until they die. Now is that the correct way to do it? There's no right way of killing an innocent animal whose only fault is to live in this world but why do these people choose to subject them to more hurt? If it can't be helped, why not just euthanize them? That is the more humane way to do it! I really don't have any respect for the Chinese now. They really don't care who they hurt as long as they make money out of it. Ruthless and barbaric, that's what they are!

Please help in making a stop to this. Please sign the petition here:

PAWS ADoption Billboard in Edsa

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 12:32 PM 0 comments

You are looking at the first PAWS Adoption billboard. Situated in Guadalupe Edsa, the billboard features Karyle and Shoeshine, a rescued dog in Marikina. Isn't she a beauty? I hope a lot of establishments will follow this good example so that a lot of people may be informed that adoption is an option and that animals, even our local cats and dogs, deserve our love and attention. Kudos to Eastwood for sponsoring this billboard! Thank you, thank you!

Greyhound Racing in the Philippines is NOT Happening

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 5:01 PM 0 comments
Our efforts paid off! Greyhound Racing in the Philippines is never going to happen! Hurrah! Thanks to those who voted no and helped spred the word. Special thanks to Senator Jamby and Cardinal Vidal of Cebu who helped. I am oh so happy when I got the email!

House withholds OK from greyhound racing
By Gil C. Cabacungan Jr.
Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 06:59:00 09/08/2009

MANILA, Philippines - The House of Representatives has agreed to hold in abeyance its approval of a second franchise for greyhound dog racing after animal protection groups prevailed upon the Senate to defer action on the first franchise.
Romblon Rep. Eleandro Jesus Madrona said House members agreed to beat a retreat from his House Bill 4116, which grants a legislative franchise to the Southeast Asia Greyhound Racing Club Inc., even though the bill had been approved on second reading.
Madrona said the House was forced to make the move after seven senators vowed to block the introduction of greyhound racing in the country because it was "immoral" and "cruel to animals."
They were prevailed upon to do so by animal rights groups Philippine Animal Welfare Society, Animal Kingdom Foundation, Feathered Friends, Compassion and Responsibility for Animals, and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The Senate is currently deliberating the first legislative franchise to operate greyhound racing in Mandaue City for Fox New Millennium Amusement Club Inc. (FNMACI), which was approved as HB 5291 by the lower house in December.
Madrona said the House committee on franchises had conducted extensive hearings on the two greyhound racing franchises before they were approved.

Please Adopt!

The Animal’s Saviour
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter; the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness, and betrayal.
And I was angry!!!
“God,” I said, “this is terrible! Why don’t you do something?”
God was silent for a moment, and then spoke softly,
“I have done something,” was the reply. “I created you.”

On Adopting Homeless Animals

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 8:54 AM 1 comments
I've submitted my intent to adopt these two cuties.

Aren't they adorable? Hard to believe that once upon a time they were homeless. The Compassion and Responsibility for Animals group (CARA) has done a great job. If you want to get a pet, please consider adopting. There are a lot of animals that are looking for homes and need our love and caring. You may visit CARA's blog for more information. As of date, I have adopted two cats. They are really five but unfortunately, the other three died. I will keep on adopting as long as I can. It is my dream to build a shelter in Pampanga in the future. I'm really working hard on that goal.

Please pass the information.

Concerns

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 3:24 PM 0 comments
I received again an email about an abused animal. This time, poor Murphy (the name of the dog) was dragged for 1.5 kilometers from a pick up truck by its owner! Good thing Murphy survivied but his owner only got a fine of R1,500. The injustice! Intend to kill and get a fine. Tsk. Also, why the hell is he being dragged in the first place? For fun? That is not how a sane human being thinks! Is the world really over populated by cruel beings? Why do you have to inflict pain knowingly to others? I can't really fathom the answer to this one. I will just pray for Murphy just like I pray for the cats and dogs in China who are victims of the fur trade.

Speaking, I just had an inspiration yesterday while going home from work. I was reading Newsweek and it occurred to me to write to Newsweek and Reader's Digest as well for them to cover the fur trade in China. I hope they will pick up the story. Everyday that passes by is a wasted day for this cause.

I was also very sadden yesterday while looking at the old trees that lined up the roads of my hometown. DENR has just given permission to DPWH to have them cut down for road widening. These trees are way older than I am and they give shade and clean the air in these roads that they cover. I just can't help thinking that their days are now numbered and soon I will go out of the office and see them cut down already. Some of the trees have already been cut down and it really pains me to see their deep roots now being unearthed for this road widening project. The distrcution we do to nature to continue with progress. I vowed to sponsor a tree planting activity in our org to help make up for this at least.

Still on Animal Cruelty and Doing Something About It

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 12:17 PM 0 comments

I am still so bothered about the situation of cats and dogs in China that I decided to make it my mission to let as many people know about it. I wrote yesterday to the producers of The Oprah Show to urge them to make a story about this cruelty. Being an animal lover, I am sure that Oprah would want to do this show but the decision for now rests on her producers. I hope that they will take notice and reveal this hurrendous act to the world. It is just so senseless and cruel and sad! Everyday that pass without something being done is a day wasted. I am always praying daily to God that he clears the mind of these people and save the animals.

Meanwhile, the Philippines, or her senators at least, are thinking of putting a greyhound race track in Luzon and Cebu. Can you believe this stupidity?! The country is plagued with problems and all they could think of and put their precious time in is weather to put a racetrack that not just kill and torture a lot of dogs but also promote gambling in the country. I am not paying a freaking P3,000/month on taxes to pay these people to do this!!! I just don't know what they are thinking! Good thing, five senators are already voting NO. Please help convince the others by signing in the petition located here. Please do sign and spread the word. We don't need this is our country! Update: the poll is now on its 298th petition signer. Yey!

I will rant about how Harry Potter 6 stunk later. Will have to tend on my farm for now.

Please Help Stop China in Skinning Cats and Dogs ALIVE!

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 4:05 PM 0 comments
I came upon this site when I was surfing the PAWS website. It is a website that urges people to sign a petition to stop China from skinning cats and dogs ALIVE. Oh, imagine the horrors! Cats and dogs being skinned alive then tossed in a corner to die! I cannot bear to think of it much more. The thought made me cry. Being an animal lover, I can feel the pain these poor creatures has to go through for what? For fur? Fur used for toys, clothes, shoes...these things won't ever, ever equate to the lives of these animals! I hate the Chinese for being so barbaric. Why are they so heartless and cruel? I guess it shouldn't be so surprising that they can do this thing to animals. After all, they knowingly put poison in baby's milk didn't they? They just don't value life! Anyway, that displeasure will just have to be discussed in another blog post. I don't want to rant and rant but in the end do nothing. I am not just type of person. And so I urge everybody to please sign the petition to help make the lives of cats and dogs in China better. The site is http://www.animalsaviors.org. Also, please let everybody know about this horrible horrible act by blogging about it, forwarding the website address to all the people in your contact book, friendster, facebook, multiply etc. This must stop! Please help make this stop!

Our Mission for Our Furry Friends

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 9:22 AM 0 comments
CARA

Seeing this poster always makes my heart melt. The kitten is so adorable and looks so helpless and innocent that I just want to hug her! A lot of cats and dogs are abandoned and abused and I am so thankful to have people from PAWS and CARA to help them out. I recently joined both groups and I am doing the best I can to help in their mission. I am tasked to spread their mission to people, since marketing is one of the things I am good at, and this is my first attempt. So far I have also adopted 2 rescued dogs, Matilda and Beau, but I am still waiting for them to finish their rehabilitation. You see, abused animals need a "psychiatrist" too to deal with their traumas. I just hope they get well soon. I am excited to have them already!

Another poster:

Both PAWS and CARA believe that the humane way to stop the overpopulation is to have your pets neutered or spayed or in layman's term kapon. A lot of unwanted kittens are being thrown into the dump all the time. These are creatures with lives and they don't deserve that kind of treatment so it is better to have your pets kaponed than have their young die helplessly out there. Both clinics offer low cost operations or you may ask your vet about it. Please remember that animals, regardless of look and breed, deserve our love and care. Let's all do our share. If you are not an animal lover like me you may also do your part by not torturing or abusing them. We are all God's creation and we should all live in harmony in this world.

Cruelty and Stupidity

cruelty poster

So much cruelty in this world. Tsk! Please help by spreading the word. The whole information is here.

I am a little irked here at the office being told what to do for our May 15 event. There's nothing wrong with being given a few general directions since we are all thinking beings here. But to be given point by point directions like, "Be sure to have a lot of extra batteries." or "Shoot first at the entrance then at this then at that..blah, blah, blah." is really getting on my nerves especially they know I own an event company and have just finished producing and organizing a successful big event. Either they are being big show offs or they don't comprehend the meaning of event organizer. Sheesh.

Teng Teng, Pacquiao and Judy Ann-Ryan Wedding

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 10:51 PM 2 comments
An online petition for the explusion of the cat killer has been launched last week to help push the UP Faculty to the right direction. Here is the petiton:

There are over half a million stray animals in the Philippines, and this is the story of just one of them. Tengteng was a month-old stray kitten who lived precariously on the grounds of the University of the Philippines at Diliman. Those who knew her spoke of a kitten who benefited from random acts of kindness including handouts of food, water, even a new collar to make herself look pretty. She enjoyed fleeting but happy moments with students who gave her a scratch or two, a tummy rub, and pats on her head. The only known photographs of Tengten are the ones you see on this site. One can say that Tengteng was not as hard up as other strays in the Philippines, but she was without a regular source of food, a home and a family to protect her.

Tengteng, like all animals, was God's child. But her life came to an abrupt end when on April 13th a second year physics student named Joseph Carlo Candare took her life and bragged about it on the web. On his blog entry for that day, Mr. Candare mockingly called Tengteng's death " an accidental Crime." However, by other accounts, Tengteng's killing was a deliberate and blood-thirsty attack fueled by Mr. Candare's visceral and sadistic hatred of cats.

How much hate, you might ask?

Mr. Candare was described as taking a running start, leaping into the air, and then landing on Tengteng with the full force of his weight and momentum. Tengteng, who could not have weighed more than two pounds, was crushed under the grown man's weight. This was a conscious act, and Mr. Candare had ample opportunities to change his mind. Whatever life was left in Tengteng's body, the last few ounces of strength she had, enabled her to seek shelter in a hovel where she ultimately died moments later, alone. The imagery is horrifying, but we have been spared the deathly sounds that must have been blood-curdling. The agonizing scream of a kitten, the crushing of her bones, the taunting of the victor over the vanquished, it was a triumphant moment for one but unnecessarily tragic for another.

Why should we care?

Some have argued that we care too much about a kitten who did not belong to anyone. Some said tha there are many strays; why care about this one? All animals deserve respect. When we disrespect an animal, that says more about us than the animal. It is not how many animals are abused, but it is the knowledge that a most heinous crime was committed on a defenseless and sentient being that behooves us to act. Such acts, however singular, offends our sense of decency and righteousness. If there is one abused animal, then that is one too many. When we are confronted by cruelty, we must address it. Acts of abject cruelty towards animals, like Tengteng's killing, are simply unacceptable. It is up to the enlightened and the compassionate to stand up and speak in behalf of those on the receiving end of humankind's brute force.

Why take my word for it?

You do not have to. I am reproducing Mr. Candare's blog entry for your perusal. Here, you can read his own words, his self-confession as a serial killer of cats, his disingenuous pang of conscience, and his not-so-veiled threat to kill more in a month ( English translation in brackets) :

"An Accidental Crime. First day sa supercon. Lunch time came. On our way out of old NIP I saw the cat I almost killed last Tuesday. Now everyone knows I hate cats. It's an unexplainable feeling towards them. Like some internal hatred. Hindi ko talaga alam kung bakit pero anumang pagpipigil sa sarili ay hindi sapat upang mapangibabawan ang panggigil ko sa mga pusa. [ I don't really know why my self-control is not enough to overcome my hatred of cats ] I pulled it on its tail and threw it. Then like some pro wrestler I jumped on it and my feet landed on it's torso. Slam! Felt good! But the cat didn't die, well not yet. It ran for its life and just as I was about to catch up on it somebody yelled: " Pwede bang pabayaan mo yung pusa?!" [ Can you leave the cat alone? ]. It was instant and involuntary. I stopped on my tracks. Nobody ever stopped me when assaulting cats. Well I guess there's always a first time for everything. The cat got away. Or at least that's what i thought. So we went to lunch Mel, Jayson, Tracy and me. After lunch, balik na sa kung anumang naiwang gawain [ we went back to whatever unfinished work we had ]. Then Tracy and Mel told me " Hui Jc napatay mo yung pusa" [ Hey, JC, you killed that cat ]. Hours later, habang abala sa XRD [ while busy at XRD ], a guy came in. Tanong niya: " Sinong pumatay dun sa pusa?" [ He asked, who killed that cat? ] Bang! Dat was me boi. Guilty as charged. I didn't see it die pero sabi ni Myles [ but Myles said ] it coughed up blood or at least something like that daw. Didn't realize I gave it a fatal hit. This isn't the first time I've killed a cat but this time it's different. It didn't occur to me back then that the cat had a leash. So I think somebody owns it. Well it's very well loved in NIP from what I heard and I just ended it's life. So there you go I'm sorry. And I wont be striking another one for maybe about a month. It feels good when your beating it(a cat) up but you suddenly feel something strange when it turns off permanently. That's how I feel right now. And maybe for the next days. Dang, am I a cat serial killer? "

To Whom Should We Appeal?

We are appealing to the high officials of the University of the Philippines at Diliman (U.P.) namely Dr. Sergio Cao, Chancellor of UP, Dr. Arnel Salvador, Director of the National Institute of Physics at UP, Dr. Caesar Saloma, Dean of the College of Science UP, and to Dr. Maricor Soriano, Deputy Director of Academic Affairs, UP.

These gentlemen, in their respective capacities, have the authority to set things right at the university. They can condemn, reject, and punish those who practice animal cruelty within the ranks of the university. They are gatekeepers to the long and illustrious history of the university. The conduct and safety of the student body are under their purview. We, therefore, are calling upon these gentlemen to apply the only just and appropriate punishment for Mr. Candare which is immediate expulsion from the university and to assist in seeking proper medical attention for Mr. Candare.

I am asking for one thousand signatures. If you agree with the spirit of this petition, please sign it and offer your opinion for the benefit of these learned gentlemen. I will post updates when new developments occur. I thank you for helping engender a more compassionate Filipino society.

Addenda: There were questions about criminal charges. The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is in the process of gathering affidavits from eye-witnesses. Yes, Mr. Candare violated the provisions of the Philippine Animal Welfare Act, Republic Act 8485. PAWS' volunteer lawyer will be mapping our their legal case against Mr. Candare.

05/02/09 I had Mr. Candare's name as John C. Candare in the initial post because he presented himself as such on another blog, but someone corrected me. His real name is Joseph Carlo Candare.

05/02/09 You may express your outrage but please no personal threats against Mr. Candare. I have to submit this petition to UP officials, and I want it fair and clean. Substantive comments will greatly help the impact of this petition. Thanks.

If you guys believe in what we are fighting for, please sign the petition which is here.

Last Saturday, the issue was also shown on Jessica Soho. If you missed it, you can view it here and here.

On a happier note, PACMAN WON OVER HATTON LAST SUNDAY AFTER JUST TWO ROUNDS! Yey!

We watched the fight last Sunday over the Internet. My brother found a live strieaming site so we got to watch the fight live without having to go pay extra. Was really tired Saturday because we were in Meralco starting 10am because it iwas the Colympics Semis last week end. And so I slept till past 11am. Was dissapointed that Pacquiao's fight is still not on since we have to leave 12 noon to go to Meralco for the games. The fight started at 11:30am or so. I was a little pissed that we will miss the fight! So when it started, I jokingly said, "Manny tapusin mo na ng round 1 or round 2 para mapanood pa namin!" Imagine our disbelief and surprise when the fight indeed ended on the second round! WOW! Manny really is a superb fighter! Hatton is supposedly a very powerful opponent. I have seen his fight with Mayweather and it took him a long time before he finally fell down and now with Pacquiao only two rounds! I was ecstatic but a little bitin. It was an action packed fight from start till the end. I pity Hatton thou. Imagine the humiliation of being put to sleep in just two rounds. Now who's the amateur now eh, Floyd?

On a last note, I've had enough of the Judy Ann and Ryan wedding. I don't think it's a simple wedding at all if you've had two receptions in grand places and a showbiz show reporting about it daily for a week now.

Response to Those Defending the Cat Murderer

Posted by SwitSexyThing at 10:49 AM 1 comments
A member of Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA) has written this piece as response to those people who are defending the cat murderer. I'm reporting it here since I agree with her 100%.

******

Compassion for Animals

I am deeply bothered and angered by the actions, attitude and frame of mind of Joseph Carlo Candare who killed the kitten at UP Diliman and the people who are defending his torture and cruelty to animals. But my anger will not do anything, so I decided to write this letter to try to enlighten you to the side of the Animal Welfare Advocates. I feel that I might be one of those people who have the right to say something about this because I was once had no love for animals and I do understand where you are standing right now, because I once stood there too. I never condoned the torturing of animals, even as a child, but I too was indifferent to their suffering for the majority of my life.

Our Rights and Power

There is no doubt, that we are the most powerful and the most intelligent being on earth. The fact that we dominated the earth and all the living creatures in it, is a very clear proof, we earned the right to be here and dominate this world. One does not need to rely on Biblical annotation to know this.

We made changes to this world, we continue to advance, whether for the better or for worse, our own welfare should be first. Every place we go to, we conquer, and everytime we do, other creatures lose their homes.

For those of you who will argue using the Bible:

In the Bible, Genesis 1:29, Humans and Animals were suppose to be Vegetarian, that is how God wanted it to be. But on Genesis 9 God made a covenant with Noah, giving us humans the right over all the animals. The reason why God gave mankind the power over all animals is because of Noah's effort to save the animals from the great flood. It wasn't given to him for nothing, He took responsibility and because of this, he was fit to rule them, he has earned that right.

As the ruler of this world, how do you wish to rule those who are under you? Is cruelty, senseless killing and torture your answer? Be very scared, because if you believe in God, then we too are in the exact same position as the animals, we too are under Someone elses mercy (God), and we will not want God to be doing the same to us. We have read the Bible, it is through our responsibility that Power was given to us over the animals.

If you happen to believe in God, how can you expect mercy from Him? How can you expect mercy from the master if you as a master have no mercy? Matthew 18:23-35

Just as what the movie Spiderman says, With Great Power comes Great Responsibility.

Like I said before, I once stood where you are standing right now, I do not expect you to share the same passion with the Animal Welfare Advocates, just as I do not share the same passion with the "Tree Huggers". I do not have to share their passion to know that what they are doing is noble. I do not cry when a tree is cut down, but I do not pass by a tree and just start cutting them and kicking them. What will be the purpose? I have no moral conflicts with killing animals for food but PLEASE do not defend cruelty as it is a whole different story. It has absolutely no place in a civilized society who understand that each one of us, including the animals deserves compassion from those who have the power. At one point in your life, you were under someone else's mercy, you should understand that this is the position each one of us, including your family and all your loved ones have to face in this life. Lucky for us we have laws that protect us, lucky for us we have a voice, and have the ability to say what we have in mind and what we feel. When the tables turn around and you are on the side that seeks mercy, do not expect for it if you cannot give mercy to those who are under yours.

Do you really wish to live in a society where there is no protection for the weak, and cruelty is widely accepted? Come on, think about it, you are not Bill Gates nor the President of the United States or the Philippines, and even if you are, do you think you will never ever need mercy?

For those who say "it's just a stupid cat", please remember that we Filipinos were once considered "stupid Indios" by the Spaniards, we were treated the same way you treat animals now. We were called "stupid Indios" and mistreated for the same reason you mistreat animals and call them stupid. It was because we didn't have the same technology, advancement and Power the Spaniards had. We fought for our rights, but without the help of those who have the power, those who were strong enough to stand up for us, without their COMPASSION, we will still be considered "stupid Indios" up to this moment.

I believe that Human race is one body with different parts and each part have different functions. There are those who help the environment, there are those who help humans, and there are those who help the animals. Different functions but equally important, as we all know without the balance, this world would have never existed and without this continued balance it will cease to exist.

I do not ask for you take responsibility, I only ask for your compassion towards the animals and all the living creatures on earth. I do not ask for you not to eat meat, I only ask that when you do, please avoid torture, the animals are already sacrificing so we may live, is torture really necessary? I ask that if you do not want to take responsibility please do not get in the way or condemn those who wish to. If you happen to have seen the movie Idiocrasy, there is a nice line in there that goes like this, "Either lead, follow, or get out of the way". Pick your choice.

Although I do not agree with the positions many of you have taken in your (hate) emails to the Animal Welfare Advocates (those of you who are defending Joseph's cruelty). I applaude you for taking a stance. Our greatest obstacle in our battle to educate people in compassion for all living things is apathy or indifference. I hope that because you have taken the time to make your feelings known on this topic that you will continue educating yourself to the plight of all living creatures on this planet.

I spoke to a gentleman from the United States that has lived here for the past 3 years. He stated that the laws are very strict in the USA against those who abuse animals. He also said that he did not noticed that there are more people cruel to animals here than in the USA. As anywhere in the world there are people whose nature is to be cruel or out of ignorance choose to do cruel acts. The difference, he said, is that here so many people look away when they see the suffering and injustices. They are afraid to stand up even when they wish to. Most people by nature are not cruel in their heart but it takes a strong person to stand against the norm of indifference and stand up against those who choose to be cruel.

I hope one day you will also be on the side of compassion but mostly I am writing this letter to let you know that even if you too are indifferent to the kingdom in which you are the master, please do not stand in the way of those that are trying to better the kingdom for all.

I have written a long letter, I have so many things to say, but there is only one question that I want you to consider...

Given that we have dominion and power over all animals, How do you wish to rule?

Kind Regards,

Note: Although I am a member of CARA and I stand with the side of all the Animal Welfare Advocates, my opinions does not necessarily concise the entirety of what our organization and other Animal Welfare Advocates fight for nor what it stands for. What I wrote above is my personal opinion, and if you have comments please contact me through this website. Thank You.

I am joining CARA and PAWS officially next week and I encourage you to do the same. If you love animals and want a better world for them too like we do, please support CARA and PAWS. Thank you.
